One More Day

After the big guys all moseyed off to school we of the bon bon eating set(ha, ha) decided to take the "littles" to the beach for one more carefree summer day. Rachael and I were joined by Tia, Olivia, and Tia's niece Abbey and nephew Jonah(they are actually big enough for school but started a day later than our kids). We were met by Grandma and Lissa and Seth. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Ginny was also coming down to the bay. It was a nice day and a nice way to hold on to summer for just a little while longer!

Paradise!

On Sunday we spent another glorious LI summer day at the beach with our good friends the Penneys and the Fourniers. Summertime is definitely the best time to live where we do(geeks aside of course)! The kids had lots of fun swimming and playing some games and the men even enjoyed some kayaking. As for Mary, Celia and myself, we just basked in the sun and "caught up". After a great day on the ocean side we walked over the dune, back to the Penney's boat on the bayside and Randy cooked us up a very tasty dinner. We even had some fresh from the bay clams that the kids had dug. Delicious! We had a bit of trouble getting the anchor out but other than that- perfection! I hate to say good-bye to summer.

Girls Day at the Beach

Tia, Olivia, Rachael and I decided to head to the beach while my boys were enjoying a day of sailing with my dad. We called my mom and she met us with Jackie and Katie in tow. The girls had lots of fun as always. Miss O loved the water and thought she could walk right in without her Mama. We're hoping to get a few more days in this week before reality sets in once again!

Where's the Beach??!!

I can't believe it's August 19th and the Tribune has yet to record beach activity! All that will be rectified here! But here's a sneak peek. On Sunday we (along with Grandma) were treated to a trip to the beach with our friends the Penney's. It was a gorgeous day if a bit windy and everyone had lots of fun. Then on Tuesday we made it down to the bay with my mom, my sister and the girls. Again it was a windy day but as you can see the kids had a blast in the sand and the "surf".

Say It Isn't So!

Here at the Tribune we are REALLY trying to hang on to summer. We've come to the realization that no matter how hard we try (and we're trying really hard) it's going to come to an end. And very quickly at that. Today we took advantage of an absolutely gorgeous day to go out with our good friends the Penneys and the Fourniers on the Penneys boat. What fun! The kids had a great time kayaking out to the sunken wreck and snorkeling, digging for sand crabs, playing in the waves and just being together. For their part, the adults enjoyed relaxing on the beach, kayaking and catching up. We all trekked back over to the bay side and Randy cooked us up a delicious dinner. God provided a beautiful sunset and we headed back home. It was all too much for Miss Rachael who proceeded to pass out in the back seat. Thanks to Randy and Celia for a fabulous day!

Another Day at the Beach

It's a tough job, y'know, but someone has to do it! Although the rest of the family was at the ocean, the kids and I headed down to the bay. We hadn't seen my mom, Cindy and the girls for a while and since our summer days are waning we decided to take advantage of this beautiful day. The water, the sand, the jetty, and our blow-up boat provided lots of things to do. It really was a nice day, very little humidity and with a nice breeze blowing.

At the Beach

Last week we headed down to the beach with Grandma, Lissa, Emma and all the kids- except Matt, we traded him for Kyle's friend Henry. Anyway, it wasn't what you would call a great beach day but the kids had tons of fun in the surf and in the sand. Holes were dug (and lounged in), waves were caught (and ridden on), and no one had to worry about getting sunburned!

First Beach Day of '07

Yesterday we headed down to the beach to meet up with the Mancuso family, various Terry families and even the Hornez family! It was a very nice afternoon. The kids kept us hoppin' so I didn't get many photos. I liked this one so I decided to post it.

Beach Bunnies

We've been trying to make the most of these last days of summer vacation so the beach has been our target destination! Yesterday we were joined by Aunt Cindy, Kate, Jackie, Grammie, Aunt Laurel and Baby Itsy (Laurel is expecting for those of you who don't know!). It was VERY windy and choppy but that doesn't deter this bunch. The kids had a fun time and all played very well together. Later on Tom and the boys went out fluke fishing with Randy and Corey Penney on their boat. Sorry, no pictures- the photographer wasn't there!

EDITED: The first two pictures were taken last week thus the perfectly smooth water conditions!
