This past weekend, Ryan and Tia treated us to a trip to Koinonia, a Lutheran camp where Ryan and his family spent lots of time when he was growing up. They have Advent programs during the weekends before Christmas. It's a really nice time for slowing down, relaxing a bit at this hectic time of year and reflecting on what the season is really all about. It's a good way to spend time with the family too. Ryan's parents and his sister Jenn and her family came as well. There are quite a few outdoor activities, inside craft-y things, games and LOTS of food! After breakfast on the first day the kids go on a "hay" ride out to the farm where they are assigned parts for the live Nativity. That night everyone goes on a trek out to the farm. On the way the staffers very creativly teach us something about Advent. Once we're out at the barn the Nativity is presented. This year Rachael even got in on the act. Tia took some really cute pictures but they won't post correctly for me so I'll have to let her take care of that. Anyway, everyone had a great time out in the woods. Thanks, Tia and Ryan!
